Department 01 / Hi-Fi
Hi-Fi
Two-channel systems built around your room: loudspeakers, the amplification that suits them, and a source worth listening to, whether digital, analog or both.

CH—01 / Loudspeakers
Loudspeakers
The component that meets your room head-on. We choose size and type by the space and how far you sit, then settle placement by measurement before the boxes go in the recycling.
- Bookshelf
- Compact two-way designs for smaller rooms and near-wall placement, on stands set to ear height.
- Floorstanding
- Deeper bass and more output for larger rooms. Placement is measured, not inherited from the last pair.
- Subwoofers
- Sealed or ported, single or paired, integrated by crossover, phase and level instead of simply turned up.
- We ask about
- Room size · Distance to rear wall · Seating distance · Typical volume

CH—02 / Amplification & streaming
Amplification & streaming
Power, control and the digital front end. We match amplifiers to the sensitivity and impedance of your loudspeakers, and choose streamers and converters for how you actually find music.
- Integrated amps
- Preamplifier and power stage in one chassis; the right starting point for most two-channel systems.
- Streamers & DACs
- Network players and converters for files and streaming services, with a control app you will want to use.
- Receivers
- For rooms where stereo listening shares space with television and film.
- We match
- Sensitivity · Impedance · Room volume · Headroom

CH—03 / Analog
Analog
Turntables reward careful setup more than any other source. We align them properly on the day, and show you how to keep them that way.
- Turntables
- Belt- and direct-drive designs chosen for isolation, speed stability and everyday ease of use.
- Cartridges
- Moving-magnet and moving-coil, matched to the tonearm and to your phono stage.
- Phono stages
- Built-in, standalone or an upgrade path, with gain and loading set for the cartridge.
- Setup
- Tracking force · Anti-skate · Azimuth · Overhang · Level
